Paradigm-Beck Windows 10 64 bit compatibility

Questions and discussions about development tools (e.g. C/C++-Compiler, Chiptool).
Some customers have been having trouble with the Paradigm-Beck C compiler crashing on 64 bit Windows 10. This crash occurs the moment you try to open any project file.

Setting the PCW.EXE's Windows compatibility back to Windows XP (Service Pack 3) seems to fix this crashing. Setting the compatibility to Windows 7 or Windows Vista did not work, which is strange since the program had no problem running under either of those two OS.

Has anyone else been seeing this problem?

I had the same problem today when it's been over a year that I'm working on Windows 10.

I had to uninstall and reinstall Paradigm to correctly detect the USB drive in backward compatibility mode with Windows XP (Service Pack 3).

And I had to copy the files to a local disk (not a network drive) for the project to open without crash.

Microsoft feels free to reprogram your Windows 10 anytime they please, whether or not you want them to.

Maybe this was a side effect of some Windows 10 "improvement" from Microsoft.
