SC143 : failed to contact SC186EX loader

Questions and discussions about the hardware of the IPC@CHIP® products SC123, SC143, SC23 and SC24.
Hello,

I'm using a SC143 H10 processor.

Unfortunatly, I loaded an OS older than version 1.60.

Now i can't load another OS or a format_sc1x3.hex by RS232.

When i try to read flash image i can't contact SC186EX loader as well.

log :
Target SC186EX found
Bootloader transmitted
Bootstrap version not detected, assume V1.00
Bootloader has no signature
Warning: SC186EX target not correct detected, possibly defective product data
Rebooting target

Is it possible to fix this problem ?

regards,

Nicolas

Hello Nicolas,

this sounds like a serial communication issue. What kind of serial communication device are you using? We always had issues with some of the Serial-to-USB adapters when communicating with SC1x3 devices. Are you using such an adapter?

Hello,

Yes I use an MOXA (Uport 1110) adapter USB/RS232.

I've usually used this adapter without problem before the wrong loading.

Nicolas

Hello,

we have good experience with this type of USB-RS232 converter:

Note: It could be important to use a recent driver version with this device as well, e.g. V1.0.084.
